SJP supply specialist and general joinery products to a wide range of clients spanning both the commercial and private markets.
Based in Essex, and with a history of high quality product since 1993, our typical service package would include estimation, design, procurement and first rate manufacture.
With approximately 7’000 sq. ft of workshop floor, we pride ourselves on the safe, well organised and environmentally friendly space that we have created within the industry.
SJP are both FSC® and PEFC Certified and are committed to using the most ethical materials available to the market ensuring that each product that we manufacture is as environmentally friendly as possible.
Both the management team and the bench joiners / machinists are highly experienced in the practices that combine traditional methods with modern techniques / equipment, to ensure the highest standards are achieved.
A sizeable proportion of our business involves the procurement of external product and services from third party suppliers and contractors. Further to the more conventional products such as timber, veneers, and laminates, the team are well-versed in the integration of various modern day materials and systems that are now common place on a joiner’s bench. Many of the project gallery images show examples of these to include glass, stone, solid surface, architectural metal, fabric, concrete, etc..
Regular analysis and long term relationships have grown a consistent supply chain that provide us with the quality that both SJP and our clients have grown to expect.
The business was started by Peter Salter on 24th December 1993. An old school joiner who would go on to achieve 47 years in the business, Peter grew SJP’s turnover and profits steadily until it’s sale to the new owners in June of 2013.
The new management team also own Proactive Joinery and Construction Limited, a service business based in London Bridge. With the joint ability to provide a full-service package from design through to installation, PAJ and SJP have proven to be equally beneficial to each other, forming a deep rooted core client list.
We have heavily invested in the workplace safety of our team over the last few years, and continue to support and train staff with the assistance of our advisory partners, John Gubb and All Day Safety Ltd.
Much time and money has been spent on the improvement of storage / racking facilities, extraction systems, space management, staff safety training, health surveillance, mechanical lifting equipment and tooling etc, to enable an environment that works both safely and efficiently.
